Baltic Industrial Group has completed another phase of work on its ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) strategy. Based on an audit by the advisory firm MOORE Polska, we have received confirmation of our readiness to adhere to sustainable development principles. As a result, we are moving on to the final phase, which involves developing and implementing the ESG strategy to strengthen our Group’s position as a responsible and international partner in the energy transition.
In cooperation with the auditing and consulting firm MOORE Polska and Quantifier, the provider of the Envirly technology platform for managing ESG sustainability, Baltic Industrial Group has completed the initial stages of preparing the holding company for the implementation of the ESG strategy.
At the beginning of December, a preliminary sustainability audit was carried out, which resulted in the presentation of a model ESG framework for the industry. Existing initiatives within the company were identified, and procedures and documents to be developed in accordance with CSRD, ESRD, and other EU regulations were outlined. Additionally, a double materiality analysis, gap analysis, and a series of sustainability and ESG reporting training sessions were conducted for employees, including reporting leaders, the ESG team, management, and executives.
Based on the analyses, including the respect for human rights (including labor rights), relationships with local communities, environmental impact, and the assessment of practices by domestic and international business and technical partners, the Group has confirmed its readiness to adhere to sustainable development principles. We are now moving forward with modeling the ESG framework and preparing the strategy itself.
The work is expected to be completed in the first months of 2025. The final document will become an integral part of the GBP holding’s development strategy, addressing the challenges of the modern world and business environment. As part of the ESG strategy development, the Group’s goals will also be updated to ensure alignment with current legal regulations and ESG reporting principles.
