The Baltic Industrial Group, owned by Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu S.A., played a significant role in the construction of key elements of Poland’s first offshore wind farm, Baltic Power.
Our plants in Gdynia and Gdańsk produced complete steel structures for two offshore power stations – OSS West and OSS East, each weighing 2,500 tons.
These structures, installed in Polish waters of the Baltic Sea about 20 km from the shore near Choczewo, constitute the power heart of the Baltic Power wind farm.
They will be responsible for receiving electricity generated by 76 turbines with a capacity of 15 MW each and transmitting it to the onshore station in the municipality of Choczewo.
The main contractor for the project was a consortium of CS WIND Offshore and Semco Maritime, with the participation of many Polish companies. The participation of the Baltic Industrial Group in this project confirms that the Polish shipbuilding and construction industry plays a key role in the development of the domestic offshore sector and actively supports Poland’s energy transition.
