On 8th September, 2023, Grupa Przemysłowa Baltic and Baltic Operator had the honor of hosting the European Union Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights, Mr. Nicolas Schmit, along with a delegation of EU representatives and representatives of the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy.
During the visit, three key aspects related to our company and projects subsidized by European funds were discussed. Answering questions from Commissioner Schmit and the EC delegation, representatives of the #GPB group talked about the company’s development resulting from the use of EU funds. They also discussed the challenges of recruiting employees, the apprenticeship process and the company’s activities related to cooperation with vocational schools.
During the meeting, the main assumptions and achievements of two projects were presented: an investment project related to the production of wind towers, and a research and development project related to ultrasonic digital diagnostics of the quality of welded joints (using the advanced UT/PA method). In addition, the Baltic Development Academy and its alumnus, Mr. Michal Formela, bronze medalist in the welding category in the previous edition of EuroSkills 2021, were introduced.
The visit of the EU Commissioner for Labor and Social Rights was an important event, during which the company had the opportunity to present its achievements and the impact of EU-funded projects on the development of the local community and economy.
